My name is Sofia, and I am a Brazilian designer living in Miami. I am currently studying for a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni Miami. Throughout my life, I have always been interested in the arts. I started exploring the artistic world through dance, theater, and music when I was young and later developed a great passion for drawing, crafting, and scrapbooking. After I graduated high school, I studied at the University of Miami and completed the Interior Design Certificate program. I worked with Sketchup and InDesign in the classes and realized I loved digital design. I started a BFA in Graphic Design at the Miami International University of Art and Design and developed skills in photoshop, digital illustration, drawing, and web design. I created websites and started working with Shopify and eCommerce. During the pandemic, I renovated and managed the e-commerce and all social media platforms (Pinterest, Instagram, Facebook) for a gift store called Urben Gifts & Gadgets in South Miami. During those two intensive years, I developed several technical skills and gained knowledge of the commerce industry. One day I came across Marangoni, and I fell in love with the school. I joined the Fashion Design program and decided to transfer from the Art Institute to Marangoni. Now, I can combine all my knowledge and passions into fashion, the artistic medium that allows society to try on many roles in life.
